I met Jenny in December 2021 at the library in Stratford and felt an instant connection with her. Her calm demeanor and the gentle, respectful way she cared for George were truly inspiring. She handed me her phone number, and from that moment, it just clicked.
As two stay-at-home mums with children born just two weeks apart, we quickly became close, meeting regularly for playdates and toddler groups. The more time I spent with Jenny and George, the more I cherished their company—and so did my daughter. I also learned so much from Jenny about being a better parent. She treated George with unwavering respect, patiently explaining things, allowing him to make choices within safe boundaries, and modeling kindness and love in everything she did. She was never forceful, always following his lead, fully present, and giving him her undivided attention.
The photo of the four of us was taken by the riverside in Stratford-upon-Avon, a place we often visited for walks together.
I miss her piercing ice-blue eyes—so much like her mother’s—filled with life, vibrancy, and curiosity. I miss her calm presence, her joyful spontaneity, and her hearty laugh. She was always ready to move to the rhythm of the moment, bringing warmth and light wherever she went.
Meeting Jenny was a blessing that changed me for the better. I am forever grateful to have been her friend.
With love,
Monika, mum of Ella
